Why isn't New Mexico in that diagram?

ReplyDeleteThat comment was intended as an off-hand reference to stories I've heard in recent years about persons (in the US) thinking that New Mexico was a foreign country.
ReplyDeleteI recall an NPR story several years ago describing how a prospective student (US citizen) was conducting by phone some sort of registration tasks with a US college and when the student said he lived in New Mexico, he was told because he lived in a "foreign country" he would have to...

ReplyDeleteum, Mexico City is in Distrito Federal, which is adjacent to the State of Mexico and not inside it..
