Absolut World
As reported in La Plaza, a Los Angeles Times blog about Latin America:
Mexico reconquers California? Absolut drinks to that!
"The latest advertising campaign in Mexico from Swedish vodka maker Absolut promises to push all the right buttons south of the U.S. border, but it could ruffle a few feathers in El Norte."
"In an Absolut World"... Mexico didn't lose half their territory in a war with the United States in 1848.
Apparently there are a few Americans getting bent out of shape over this... I say, get a sense of humor... you won the war, remember?
Thanks to Jerad for the heads up!

Since reading the first article and posting about it here, I have seen additional articles and comments. I can't believe the ignorant vitriol.
Ignorant, because most of the frat boys making comments don't even know the history involved, and the vitriol is clearly fueled by their biggoted ant-immigrant views.
"I'll never buy another bottle of Absolut again!" they cry.... better stay away from the Tequilla too...
I'm going out tonight to buy two bottles of Absolut!
OK, I'm confused. If this is a Mexican advertising campaign, why is the text in English?
Why do English ad campaigns use French, Italian or German words from time to time?
It's exotic.
